Adoption Update

Life has been extremely busy for us and we are just getting settled and into a routine for the summer. So much has happen on the adoption home front so let's get started with those updates.....

Our dossier was approved in late April which in simple terms mean that we matched with JE and have been approved to be his parents!! We got all the documents we needed and submitted our I800 at the first of June and received our approval last week. We are so excited and grateful for the way the Lord is moving in this adoption.

We were also able to have our first Skype session (visit) with JE and boy was it full with all types of emotions....he kept showing us his photo book we made for him. It was just amazing; we were smiling from ear to ear. We hadn't spoken to or seen him since we FaceTime him on his last day of the hosting program last July. We are grateful that we were able to talk to his caretaker and learn as much about him as possible. I (Jamallia) couldn't go to sleep that night...I had so many thoughts and questions flooding my mind. My love (Tyvon), of course, just look at me all peaceful, smiled and said...Babe relax; we are ready for this...it's what we have been praying and waiting for.

As for funding...we are $1200 away (my calculations were off...I thought it was only about $600)....additional steps and fees came after we relocated to our new home.

So what's next....waiting...LOL...we are familiar with this step. We are waiting to hear that his medical and visa appointments have been made. Once the visa interview has been completed..we should get our invitation to travel approximately 2 weeks; it could take longer! The kids are so excited to hear us say....we are going to get JE.

Thank you for your prayers and partnering with us during this adoption!!
